OCH FormationGridViper, Primarch
After being in quite a few OCHs, it has occured to me, that the ones that are successful, are when people kill quickly and move from one room to the next like a fire drill. It helps when you have strong warriors But the real key to make an OCH as efficient as possible, is the formation which the hunt group tries to sustain.

  • First and foremost, everyone should try to be in a single screen where hunters can see each other, protect and destroy with accuracy.
  • Rouges are the frontliners simply because of their agility. A warrior can't hop over the enemy and the rouge can. Mages and poets should almost never lead into the prey, unless there are very few fighters.
  • One enemy per fighter. If the fighters are spread out, they can cover a larger area, and the group destroys faster and more efficiently. Also there are less gaps this way, where a monster can sneak in and kill a poet, mage, or a low level fighter. This rule does not apply to creatures that have a lot of vitality and need to be ganged up on.
  • Protect each other, be aware of where your fellow hunters are. Hunter's first responsibility is not to kill a boss, but to see if the other hunters are safe. Warriors and rouges should always be in sight of poets and mages.
  • Move swiftly. If you see that you have killed the majority of the monsters in the room, don't stick around to kill one or too that are hiding in the corner, move on to the next room. Chances are, you'll kill more monsters and do it faster, than if you stick around.
  • Use common sense. We have hunters of all strengths on OCHs. If you see that some are strong enough to be autonomous, follow their lead, and pay attention to the less experienced hunters that are in danger of dying. It really requires a little bit of brain power, because the ochs have such variety
That is all. Use this knowledge for good, not Evil.... Or I shall give you a lobotomy =)
