- OCH means Official Clan Hunt. That boils down to the fact that
OCH are for Dharma members only. Sure, from time to time
we might run across a non-member friend who offers assistance.
That is a noble gesture and we thank him/her...but.... that person is
not to be invited to group or tag along with the OCH. They are not
trained to be with our group and they pose a liability to the safety of
the group. (This includes non-member spouses).
- OCH (Official Clan Hunts) are to benefit the clan, not the individual.
They were created to bring in funds to support clan events and gain
clan features. -Not- to leech people. If you level on the hunt, great! If
you don't, don't ask the hunt to go longer. Think to yourself; am I here
for my clan, or for myself?
- OCH are also meant to benefit the members of Dharma as a training
tool to become more masterful group hunters. Contained in the basic
idea of Dharma is to become the very best you are capable of being.
Learning to work as a tight, organized skilled member of a group is
one of the bonuses of being a Dharma member.
- "Stay together." This tip is useful even not on group hunting, it is
essential for the sanity of both Poets and Mages and for life to the
Warriors and Rogues. It's not a hard concept. Recently tests were
conducted, it is now a proven fact that it is impossible to
Heal/Asv/Scourge/Vex/Paralyze anything that is not on the screen!
(Please read attached post titled ~OCH Formation~).
- Shouting for Asv the second it wears off is annoying. Look at tip
number three, if you stayed together Asv can be perfectly timed.
When you see one person ask for Asv, you don't have to. If it seems
that Asv is being neglected or it missed you, ask then.
- Ever heard the phrase, "Bit off more than he could chew"? That's
what goes through my mind whenever a level 70 fighter sidles up to a
Black mantis or Hill ogre and starts swinging. This is a danger to
everyone, not just the fighter with a death wish. Because it means
healing must be diverted from the other fighters to that fighter, and in
the meantime someone could die.
- It is generally recommended that only 99's attack Hills and Black
Mantis. It is strongly advised that non-99's do not stand even close
to these guys as they can kill you in one hit. It is up to the Host to
make the decision if a non-99 can attack them (only very exp-high
stat non-99's would be allowed this privilege, but again, it is the
decision of the OCH host!
- Whirl winding without adequate warning is a bad thing, for basically
the same reason in number five. Note: Saying something like "WW"
the same time you cast the spell is not adequate warning.
- Never scream "boss" and race away from the group to attack the
boss. The OCH Rules are very specific. It's ok to announce that
you see one but stay with the group until the group can move to
attack the boss.
- Know and watch your Host and group members. If you walk into a
room where there are other people hunting, be aware! Do not race
towards creatures or bosses that are around another player. Be
courteous and allow them their space. Give a ~Dharma Greeting~.
Remember your actions as a Dharma group count a lot for Honor.
